The artistic process employed to achieve this exquisite effect is called ‘Anticatura,’ derived from the Italian term for antique finishing. This technique is mastered by skilled shoemakers from Italy and France. Entrusting the upper part of the shoe to the hands of an experienced antique finisher, it transforms into a true work of art. The Anticatura method involves hand dyeing the leather, a meticulous process that requires approximately 8-10 hours of dedicated work per pair. The result is a completely distinctive patina with a beautifully aged appearance.
